Illness Policy:

If your child has anything other than the sniffles, you will have to keep them home and/or pick them up ASAP if an illness presents itself while they are here! If you can't pick them up, an alternate will have to come get them. If they are sick, they will need to be symptom free for 24 hours before they are allowed back (or in some cases come back with a doctor's note) .

You will not be reimbursed for any sick days your child has to take. I DO reimburse for any sick days we have to take!

Keep in mind that not only might other kids in care catch what your kids have, but if my kids (or I) get sick I will have to close, meaning you will be making alternate arrangements for even longer than you might if you keep your child home for a day or two!

I follow Alberta Dayhome Standards:

If a provider notices that a child exhibits any of the signs or symptoms listed below, the provider must ensure that:
*the child’s parent(s) arranges for the immediate removal of the child from the program premises;
* the child does not return to the program premises until the provider is satisfied that the child no longer poses a health risk to others in the program (e.g., the parents provide a physician’s note, the parents declare that the child has been symptom-free for at least 24 hours.)
Signs or symptoms of illness exhibited by a child include:
* a child vomiting, having a fever, diarrhea or a new unexplained rash or cough;
*a child requiring greater care and attention than can be provided without compromising the care of the other children in the program;
*a child having or displaying any other illness or symptom the staff knows or believes may indicate that the child poses a
health risk to persons on the program premises.

Holiday Policy

I DO have a licensed back up provider who comes to my home for most absences/appointments we may have!
I will give as much notice as possible for any days off I plan to take and if necessary, we can try to make back-up arrangements with the agency's assistance if you can't make your own. (Remember, I have a spare provider in place!)
I will not charge for any time I am closed due to holidays (except for stats/AB bank holidays). However, your fees will not be reduced if you take holidays or other personal time off!
We can try to coordinate for days off that work together over major holidays such as Christmas.

I am closed on all Alberta stats/holidays listed here!
